A historic building located in the heart of Toronto’s Financial District, DX has served as a critical meeting point for commerce, design, technology, and innovation.
Purpose-built as the original Toronto Stock Exchange (1937-1983), DX has housed Canada’s Design Museum (2012-2019), Expo for Design, Innovation & Technology (EDIT) Festival (2017) and Elevate Tech Festival (2017-current).
In September 2019, DX was announced as Canada’s Headquarters for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). Partnering with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), DX will now be home to year-round programming, leveraging design and technology to create actionable solutions to solve the 17 UN SDGs, which include climate change, poverty, and inequality.
Adopted by all United Nation Member States in 2015, the Sustainable Development Goals are ‘an urgent call for action’ for the human race and the planet we inhabit. World leaders have pledged to meet the UN SDGs by 2030 to ensure a brighter future.
