FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DESIGN = CANADIAN SURVIVAL

What will differentiate Canada and keep us competitive in a world of offshore manufacturing? Innovation is the key to success and long-term survival. So why is it not integrated into more business models?

On March 4th, the Design Exchange is holding a one-day business forum that will launch the research findings of the Product Design and Development initiative undertaken by Industry Canada in partnership with Design Exchange. Building upon groundbreaking research developed by the Design Council in the United Kingdom, Canada now has statistical data supporting the value of integrating innovation into a company’s business plan. For the first time, Canadian companies will be able to compare their performance to local and international competitors.

This Forum is a professional development opportunity for both the manufacturing and design industry where participants will learn about what other Canadian companies are doing in this arena through case studies. Topics such as intellectual property, utilizing tax incentives and calculating design investment will also be covered followed by break out sessions that will encourage further discussion and networking opportunities.
